THE PEVEX STORY

Over 30 Years of Experience in the Stove & Fireplace Industry

Pevex Enterprises Ltd was established in 1993, initially supplying traditional firebaskets, grates and firebacks to the UK fireplace industry. Over more than three decades, the business has evolved considerably, developing from a specialist fireplace supplier into an established designer, developer and distributor of wood burning, multi-fuel, gas and electric stoves.

Stoves became an important part of the Pevex business in 2004, beginning a period of expansion that saw the company introduce a number of distinctive British and European stove brands to its nationwide dealer network.

Developing Stoves for the British Market

Product development has always played an important role at Pevex. In 2006 we launched the Bohemia range, developed specifically for the British market. This was followed by further development of the range, including improved construction, additional models and clean-burn technology, with models subsequently approved for use in Smoke Control Areas.

In 2011, Pevex introduced the Serenity range of British-designed and manufactured inset stoves. Designed around the requirements of the UK fireplace industry, the range combined straightforward installation with contemporary styling and efficient performance. The collection was later expanded to include freestanding models.

Over the years, Pevex has also worked with established European manufacturers, bringing carefully selected products from Denmark, France and elsewhere in Europe to UK customers. These long-standing relationships have given us extensive experience of stove design, manufacture, testing and distribution.

A New Generation of Pevex Stoves

Today, we are investing significantly in the development of our own stove ranges.

The Woodbridge collection represents a new generation of Pevex wood burning and multi-fuel stoves, combining high efficiency, clean combustion and contemporary British design. Alongside Woodbridge, established Pevex ranges including Newbourne, Serenity and Brightwell continue to be developed and updated for today's market.

Our product development programme includes working closely with British manufacturers, specialist fabricators and independent European test laboratories. This allows us to combine more than 30 years of industry experience with modern manufacturing techniques and increasingly demanding standards for efficiency and emissions.

Wherever practical, we are also increasing the number of products manufactured in Britain, while continuing to work with selected international manufacturing partners where they offer the quality, technology or specialist expertise we require.

Selected European Partnerships

Alongside our own ranges, Pevex works with carefully selected European manufacturers whose products complement the Pevex collection.

Since 2024, we have been the UK distributor for Lotus Stoves of Denmark, whose high-quality Scandinavian wood burning stoves complement our British-designed ranges.

 

We also distribute Firez electric fires, providing our dealer network with a broader choice of heating products.

An Employee-Owned Business

In early 2023, after 30 years of trading, the directors transferred ownership of Pevex Enterprises Ltd to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

​

Employee ownership provides continuity for the business while giving the people who work within Pevex a direct interest in its long-term success. It also allows us to retain the experience, relationships and values developed over more than three decades while continuing to invest in the next generation of Pevex products.

Looking Forward

Pevex today combines more than 30 years of stove and fireplace experience with an ambitious programme of new product development.

We continue to work closely with our network of independent stove and fireplace retailers throughout the UK, supporting them with distinctive products, technical knowledge, dependable stock availability and experienced customer service. From our base near Woodbridge, we also support independent retailers supplying wood burning and multi-fuel stoves in Suffolk.

​

Our aim is straightforward: to develop and source well-designed, efficient and dependable stoves that are ideally suited to British homes, while continuing to evolve the Pevex range for the future.
